Welcome to Wolf Forge.

Wolf Forge creates software and tools because we think they are useful, interesting, or occasionally because something annoyed us enough that we decided to fix it.

These terms apply to the Wolf Forge website and services provided directly by Wolf Forge.

Individual open-source projects may also have their own software licences. Where they do, that licence governs your use, modification and distribution of the software itself.

The software

Wolf Forge software is generally provided free of charge.

You may use our software subject to the licence supplied with the relevant project. For open-source projects, please refer to the licence included with the source code or distribution.

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, Wolf Forge software is provided “as is”, without guarantees that it will always be available, error-free, compatible with every system or suitable for a particular purpose.

We will try not to break things.

We cannot promise that we won't.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for deciding whether a Wolf Forge tool is appropriate for what you are trying to do.

You should keep appropriate backups before allowing any software—including ours—to modify important files, configurations or systems.

Wolf Forge is not responsible for losses caused by using the software where that loss could not reasonably have been anticipated or is outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.

Third-party games and services

Some Wolf Forge projects work with games, platforms, APIs or services operated by other organisations.

Wolf Forge is an independent project unless explicitly stated otherwise.

References to third-party products or services do not imply endorsement, partnership or affiliation with their owners.

Those products and services remain subject to their own terms and licences.

Biscuits 🍪

Wolf Forge software does not require payment simply because a biscuit option exists.

If something we've made has been useful and you'd like to support continued development, you can optionally buy us some biscuits once payments are available.

Biscuit payments are voluntary support for Wolf Forge. They do not purchase additional software features, priority support, influence over development, ownership of the project, or an obligation for Wolf Forge to develop a particular feature.

Please only buy biscuits if you genuinely want to.

Payments will be processed securely by our payment provider. We will not store your full payment-card details.

Where consumer law gives you rights that apply to a payment or transaction, nothing in these terms removes those rights.

Availability

Wolf Forge is an independent project and things occasionally need maintenance, change direction or disappear into the woods for a while.

We do not guarantee that every website, service, download or project will remain available indefinitely.

Where practical, open-source code will remain available through its relevant repository even if active development ends.

Acceptable use

Please don't deliberately misuse Wolf Forge services, attempt to interfere with their operation, use them to attack other systems, or do anything unlawful with infrastructure operated by Wolf Forge.

What you do with software running on your own computer remains your responsibility, subject to the applicable software licence and law.

Intellectual property and open source

The Wolf Forge name, branding and original website content remain the property of their respective owner.

Open-source software produced by Wolf Forge may be copied, modified and redistributed according to the licence supplied with that project.

The licence matters more than this page when determining what you can do with a particular piece of source code.

Changes

Projects evolve, and these terms may occasionally need to evolve with them.

The current version will always be published on this page with the date it was last updated.
